SYNESTHESIA
Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.
For this project, I focused on my perception of classic rock bands from the 60s, 70s and 80s. This is Synesthesia- classic rock edition. Six bands were chosen based on their distinctive style and vibe- AC/DC, Queen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Led Zeppelin- to show how different artists may interpret the same genre in different ways.
A moodboard for classic rock made to better understand and get the feel of the iconic genre.
For this project, I made compositions out of visuals made by the synesthesia felt after listening to the songs of the bands. Those compositions were then combined to make a final one for classic rock as a whole. More patterns and compositions were made to experiment and see if I could get interesting results. I also made a Spotify playlist for the same genre with my design as the cover.
